Call up the main menu system by pressing the "Start" button, and navigate to select "Control Panel." Open the link "Firewall Windows» and click the "Advanced" dialog box that opens. Click ICMP Settings and uncheck the box in the line Allow incoming echo request. Save your changes by clicking OK.
Return to the main "Start" menu and go to the dialogue, "Run." Type mmc in the line "Open" and confirm the launch of the utility, by clicking OK. Open the File menu, the top service panel window and point to Add / Remove Snap-in. Add the snap-IP Security and Policy Management, and apply a checkmark in the Local computer. Confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking Close, and save the changes by clicking OK.
Call the context menu item IP Security Policies console left pane, click the right mouse button and point to Manage IP Filter Lists and Filter Actions. Expand the All ICMP Traffic link that opens a dialog box and click the Manage Filter Actions in the next dialog.
Pass the first Wizard window by clicking Next, and enter Block in the new Filter Action Name dialog box. Save your changes by clicking Next, and complete the wizard. You can do this by clicking the Close button in the last window.
Re-open the context menu item IP Security Policies mmc console, click the right mouse button and select the command Create IP Security Policy. Pass the first wizard window that opens by clicking Next, and type Block Ping in the Name field the following dialog box. Confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking Next, and remove the checkmark in the Activate the default responce rule in a new window. Save your changes by pressing the Next button and use the box in the final line of the Edit Properties Wizard. Apply the changes by clicking Finish, and then use the Add button on the new policy IPSec.
Confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking Next, and apply a checkmark in the All network connections. Save your changes by clicking Next, and check the checkbox in the row All ICMP Traffic. Once again, click Next, and apply a checkmark in the New Block dialog box. Save your changes by clicking Next, and open the context menu of the policy created by right-clicking. Specify the command Assign.
